Be Like Khmer Supporting Quality Education for Cambodia.
We strongly believe in locally-led support and collaboration. This is why Be Like Khmer supports SeeBeyondBorders. Local partnerships and support are integral to us, facilitating local engagement and reaffirming alignment between our work and community values.
Who are SeeBeyondBorders?
SeeBeyondBorders are a non-governmental organisation dedicated to tackling the root causes of Cambodia’s learning crisis by training and mentoring school teachers in maths, literacy, classroom management and EdTech. With the mission to enable quality teaching and learning in schools, they collaborate with Cambodia’s national, provincial and district-level Ministries of Education.
Why focus on Education?
Education empowers children by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions, empowering them to break out of the poverty cycle and contribute to community development. Educated communities drive innovation and systemic change, building the foundation for sustainable development.
Why Northwest Cambodia?
Throughout Cambodia, a child attends school on average for 5.1 years; however, the average years of schooling in Siem Reap province is just 3.7 years, compared to 8.7 years in the nations capital, Phnom Penh. This regional inequality demonstrates a real and immediate need for intervention and support in Northwest Cambodia.
